On Thursday, 25th May 2023, Ascot Racecourse joined others from across the industry to recognise the Racing Together Community Day – a day when the racing world gives back to its local communities …

 

To commemorate the day, our Ascot Racecourse Supports charity/community programme organised a community tea and transport for 86 guests from four local day care centres (Ascot Day Centre, King George VI Day Centre, Age Concern, Windsor & Age Concern, Bracknell)  – connecting members of our elderly community who might be isolated and not able to visit a venue such as Ascot Racecourse in normal circumstances. 

 

A super day was held with afternoon tea service in our On5 restaurant with guests also having the opportunity to meet our equine ambassador, Side Glance, who was, as always, the star of the show!

 

We also met Richard, a past Ascot employee of 30 years who was interviewed by World Horse Racing – we look forward to sharing his story over our channels in due course.

 

Thank you also to members of the Racecourse Association who volunteered their time to meet and help our visitors.
